Prof Tuuli is currently Professor of Operations and Project Management & Director of Academic Staffing at Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University, UK. He had previously served as Dean of the Business School (2018 – 2020) and Deputy Rector (2020 – 2023) of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) - a Ghanaian public tertiary institution. He was also Assistant Professor (2010 - 2014) and Associate Professor (2014 - 2018) at Loughborough University, UK, Assistant Professor (2009 – 2010) at University of Westminster, UK, Research Assistant (2009) at the University of Hong Kong and Research and Teaching Assistant (2001 – 2002) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. Prior to his academic career, Prof Tuuli worked in industry as Manager/Quantity Surveyor (2003 – 2005) with Taysec Construction Ltd (a Taylor Woodrow plc) in Ghana.
Professor Tuuli has an international outlook and over 20 years of consultancy, professional and academic (leadership, mentorship, research and teaching) experience as a distinguished award-winning scholar and visionary leader in academia and industry. Professor Tuuli’s consultancy and professional experience has been within the context of strategic management, policy making and implementation, organisational development and project/development management. In project management, he has been involved in the renewal, development, implementation, evaluation and commercial management of development Projects/Programmes and Infrastructure Projects/Programmes (specifically, Healthcare, Roads & Bridges, Rail, Mass Housing, Climate Adaptation Interventions, etc.) working with various clients in Ghana and across Africa on projects funded by the World Bank, AU, EU, DANIDA, USAID, etc.
For more than a decade, Professor Tuuli has managed significant research projects as Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Investigator (Co-I). Through these projects, Professor Tuuli has researched and reported on the human factor and technology issues required to sustain the efficiency and effectiveness of projects/programmes and project-based organisations through the development and advancement of theories of, and the empirical verification and validation of strategies/mechanisms for effective teamwork.
Professor Tuuli is a Member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS), Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply, and Project Management Institute (PMI), Ghana Chapter, Institute of Project Management Professionals (IPMP) and Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA). He is also an Honorary Professor at the Department of Real Estate and Construction, The University of Hong Kong, Technical Advisor on Projects at the Parliamentary Service of Ghana and Board Director, Project Management Institute (PMI) Global Accreditation Center (GAC).
